Birdoswald Roman Fort sits within the largest remaining stretch of Hadrian’s Wall. It allows you to march back in time to the peak of the Roman Empire in Britain.

Roam the ruins of gates, watchtowers, and turrets. Stand where Roman soldiers patrolled the north-west frontier, and look out upon Cumbria’s wild landscape. Learn all about the history of Roman Britain in the fort’s museum and even try replica Roman games!
